Assembly Instructions and Warnings

Waterproofing and Protection of TPZ Italia Italia Covers

All covers are made with 100% waterproof materials, and seams are thermo-taped from the inside to minimise water infiltration. While rated for up to 80% waterproofing, prolonged exposure to heavy rain or pressure washing may lead to minor infiltration—this is not a defect but a by-product of handcrafted design and detailed stitch work.

Covers with more seams or embroidery may see slight water entry or fading over time with UV and chemical exposure. For extended durability, avoid leaving the bike under direct sunlight or exposing it to harsh cleaners.

Mounting Recommendations

• Installation takes approx. 15–20 minutes. Comfort System or thicker covers may take longer.
• Tools required: Screwdriver. Narrow pliers. Manual, electric or pneumatic staple gun. Protective gloves/glasses. Optional: Protective film

Fitting Procedure

• Remove all old staples using pliers.
• Remove the original cover.
• (Optional): Insert protective film between seat foam and new cover.
• Slide on the new cover, starting at the front and pulling tightly towards the back and sides.
• Staple the rear section first with 3–4 staples.
• Staple the front section next with 3–4 staples.
• Staple both sides last, keeping the centre aligned and tension even.
• Adjust if necessary by removing and repositioning staples.

Important Notes

• Always test the staple gun pressure on wood before starting. Excess pressure may tear the material.
• BMW seat bases are very tough plastic, so ensure your gun is suitable. Manual guns work, but electric or pneumatic is recommended.
• Wear gloves and eye protection when working with staples.
