Waterproofing and Protection of TPZ Italia Italia Covers

TPZ Italia Italia seat covers use 100% waterproof materials, and the seams are thermo-taped internally to deliver up to 80% waterproof protection. Please note that in extreme conditions, such as extended rain exposure or pressure washing, slight water infiltration may occur — this is not a defect but a result of handcrafted stitching and design complexity.

Covers with more seams or embroidered logos may be more susceptible to minor infiltration or gradual colour fading due to sun and chemical exposure.

To maximise product lifespan:

• Avoid long-term exposure to sunlight
• Use a protective cover during washing
• Clean only with water and neutral soap
• Dry immediately after cleaning

The velvet-effect PVC used may be slightly more delicate than other materials. Even though it is saddlery-grade, we recommend drying it quickly and avoiding overexposure to the elements to preserve its colour and sheen.

Fitting Instructions

Installation takes 15–20 minutes. For Comfort System models, the process may be longer. If you are not confident, please consult a professional.

Tools Required:

• Screwdriver
• Narrow-nose pliers
• Staple gun (manual, electric, or pneumatic)
• Protective gloves and safety glasses
• Optional: Protective film

Safety Notes:

• Always test staple pressure on wood before use
• Over-pressurising the staple gun may tear the cover
• Be cautious when removing old staples — use gloves and pull one at a time with pliers

Installation Steps:

• Remove old staples and cover
• (Optional) Apply protective film over seat foam
• Fit the new cover starting from the front, stretching it toward the rear and sides
• Staple rear section with 3–4 staples
• Staple front section with 3–4 staples
• Staple each side with 3–4 staples while keeping alignment centred
• If needed, remove and adjust staples to fix folds or misalignment
