Waterproofing and Protection of TPZ Italia Italia Covers

All TPZ Italia Italia covers are made using 100% waterproof materials. Seams are thermo-taped from the inside, offering up to 80% waterproofing. In extreme weather or during pressure washing, minor water infiltration may occur. This is not considered a defect but a natural result of handcrafted construction.

Covers with additional seams or embroidery may be slightly more susceptible to infiltration or minor colour fading over time, particularly with prolonged sun or chemical exposure.

To extend product life:

• Avoid long-term exposure to direct sunlight
• Cover the seat during bike washes
• Clean only with water and neutral soap
• Dry the seat immediately after cleaning

If your seat cover uses velvet-effect PVC, take extra care to avoid extended exposure to sun and heat. Although suitable for saddlery, this material can fade or lose its sheen faster than others if neglected.

Fitting Instructions

Installation Steps

• Remove the old seat cover and all staples
• (Optional) Apply protective film over seat foam to ease fitting and block moisture
• Fit the new cover starting at the front, pulling firmly toward the back and sides
• Staple the rear section with 3–4 staples
• Staple the front section with 3–4 staples
• Staple both sides, 3–4 staples each, keeping the cover centred
• Check for folds or misalignment — remove and re-fit if needed
