Iconic London Ace Café Faces Temporary Closure on Friday Nights

Iconic London motorcycling hub, the Ace Café, has recently announced the suspension of its famous Friday night adrenaline meetings. Due to what the Café terms as "illegal and unacceptable behaviour," the establishment has been compelled to close its doors from 6pm every Friday until further notice.

Reactions to the temporary closure announcement have been largely positive, with many patrons offering their support and understanding on social media. Despite the inconvenience, the motorcycle community has rallied around the Café in its decision, standing by its commitment to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all attendees.

The Ace Café, a cornerstone in the London motorcycling scene, will work with the local police force to find a sustainable solution to the issue. More information on this development is expected in the coming week. Despite the current restrictions, the café continues to remain open on all other days, upholding its long-standing tradition of being a vibrant gathering place for the motorcycling community.

Triumph 400X Scrambler

Triumph Introduces New Small Wonders: Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X

In a bold move to secure a slice of the lucrative sub 47bhp singles class market, Triumph Motorcycles has unveiled its latest additions - the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X. These new models, the result of a collaborative project with Indian manufacturing giants, Bajaj Auto, bring an exciting dimension to Triumph's modern retro range.

The globally popular singles class saw key competitor Royal Enfield sell 3830 units in the UK alone in 2022. Triumph, with a keen eye on this market segment, has equipped both the Speed and Scrambler with a liquid-cooled 398cc engine that outputs a respectable 39.5bhp at 8000rpm. While pricing details remain undisclosed, Triumph assures potential buyers that the cost would align with the rest of the class. Availability of these models is expected to start from December 2023.

Each model carries a distinct character and aesthetic. The Speed 400 leans more towards road usage, while the Scrambler 400 X showcases an affinity for the occasional off-road adventure. The Scrambler takes cues from the larger Triumph Scrambler 1200, borrowing its off-roading capabilities and versatility, while retaining its unique personality.

Jake Dixon

Jake Dixon Delights with Maiden Moto2 Victory in Assen

Jake Dixon delivered a stunning performance at Assen to clinch his maiden Moto2 victory. The British rider took the lead in the second lap and, after a few minor scares, maintained his position till the end, crossing the finish line 0.848s ahead of second-placed Jorge Martin.

Dixon's triumph marks the first time a Brit has won a Moto2 race since Sam Lowes in 2016, which was also at Assen. The win has also given a significant boost to Dixon's 2023 championship campaign, bringing him up to 6th in the overall standings. This victory follows a recent string of impressive performances by Dixon, who has been steadily improving his standing in the Moto2 championship.

Following his win, Dixon praised his Petronas Sprinta Racing team for their support and hard work. His attention now turns to the next round at Sachsenring, where he'll aim to carry forward this momentum and further consolidate his championship position.

CFMoto 800NK Set to Debut in Dealerships in July

CFMoto has just revealed its new 800NK, the much-anticipated production version of their middleweight naked roadster concept. After the unveiling of the NK-C22 concept bike last year, which was built around a KTM 790 parallel-twin engine, the Chinese brand has finally converted it into a full-fledged road model.

The 800NK sports a robust 799cc, DOHC parallel-twin engine that delivers a claimed 93.8bhp and 58.3lb.ft of torque. Given its power output and the reported weight of 186kg, riders can expect a lively and nimble riding experience. The bike also features fully adjustable KYB suspension, a Chromoly-steel tubular frame, and standard swingarm unit, all coming together to ensure a stable and comfortable ride.

Despite its impressive spec sheet, the CFMoto 800NK is surprisingly affordable. At £6999 on the road, it manages to undercut competitors like the KTM 790 Duke and Suzuki GSX-8S, making it a strong contender in the middleweight naked bike segment.

Ducati Offers Rare Chance to Own Pieces of MotoGP History

Ducati's Memorabilia project is offering a unique opportunity for MotoGP enthusiasts and Ducati fans in 2023. The Italian motorcycle manufacturer has added certified parts from the Desmosedici GP16 engine to their collection. The assortment of parts includes the GP16 exhaust camshaft, the original Desmosedici GP16 intake camshaft, connecting rod, and piston. These parts are not just collector's items, but they also represent significant pieces of motorcycling history. Each part is integral to the performance and power of Ducati's GP16 machine.

These items come with a certificate of authenticity signed by Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali and Ducati Corse General Manager Luigi Dall’Igna. In addition, the certificate provides a comprehensive technical description of the part, underlining its importance in the MotoGP machine's grand scheme. The parts are available for purchase from the Ducati store in Bologna, the entire Ducati dealer network, or online. Potential buyers should act quickly, though, as these pieces are available on a first-come-first-serve basis due to their limited availability.
