Exhaust Valve Information – SP Model

The Honda CB1000 Hornet SP is equipped with an original exhaust valve system. When installing the IXRACE MK2 slip-on, the original valve must be bypassed to accommodate the replacement exhaust configuration.

· The SP model uses a servo-operated exhaust valve controlled by cables.
· IXRACE recommends removing both the exhaust valve cable and the cable connected to the servo actuator during installation.
· Removing both cables helps prevent unnecessary resistance or obstruction within the original valve operating mechanism.
· If a retained cable becomes trapped or cannot move freely, the servo motor may overheat or become damaged.

Standard CB1000 Hornet: The standard model does not feature the same exhaust valve system, so no valve cable modifications are required.

How the IXRACE Link Pipe Works

The IXRACE link pipe incorporates a dual internal pipe arrangement designed to replicate aspects of the original exhaust valve's function without retaining the factory valve assembly.
