CB1000 Hornet SP – Important Exhaust Valve Information
The CB1000 Hornet SP is equipped with an original exhaust valve. When fitting the IXIL Race Xtrem Black silencer, this valve is bypassed.
We recommend removing both exhaust valve control cables – one from the exhaust valve and the other from the servo actuator. Although removing both cables is not strictly necessary, leaving a cable in place could cause problems if it becomes restricted or unable to move freely, potentially placing unnecessary load on the servo motor.
The IXIL link pipe incorporates an internal twin-pipe design to replicate the effect of the original valve configuration:
· At lower engine speeds, exhaust gases are directed through the larger internal pipe.
· As engine speed increases, gases can flow through both the larger and smaller internal pipes.
Standard CB1000 Hornet: The standard model does not use the same exhaust valve configuration, so these additional steps are not required.
